CSPAN has asked the White House for permission to televise the upcoming negotiations of the health care reform bill, better known as the conference process between the House and Senate bills. CSPAN’s chief executive, Brian Lamb, sent a letter to President Obama, Speaker Pelosi and Majority Leader Reid asking for access.

The White House is stalling. Press Secretary Robert Gibbs claimed to not have seen the letter. Perhaps he doesn’t read POLITICO, which is where I read the letter.

The president has acted shamefully throughout this entire health care fiasco. And now he is going back on his pledge to allow this process to be on television. But I would never ask you to take my word for it, let’s hear it from the president’s own mouth:
